Asthma is a common, long-term condition that affects your breathing. During an asthma attack, the airways swell and you can experience shortness of breath, chest tightness, wheezing and coughing.
Symptoms can come and go and also vary in how severe they are. Although there is no cure, asthma shouldn’t restrict your life. We can prescribe medicine to help – providing it’s suitable for you.
Please note, if you’re currently short of breath or having an asthma attack and need your inhaler fast, this is not the service for you — you need to access urgent care. You should call 999 or NHS 111 and follow your personal asthma plan.
