Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) that causes uncomfortable outbreaks of blisters. Once you’ve caught the virus, it stays in your body so you can get outbreaks time and again. If that’s happening to you every couple of months and you want them to stop, you can take preventative treatment, known as ‘suppression’. This will also reduce the chance of you infecting a sexual partner.
