Depression and anxiety treatments we offer

If a medicine is the best option to manage your symptoms we can prescribe an antidepressant through our Membership service. There’s more on how this works here.

We have seven antidepressants available. Of the SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), we offer four: sertraline, citalopram, escitalopram or fluoxetine. Of the SNRIs (serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors) we offer: duloxetine and venlafaxine. Mirtazapine is also an option, if that works best for you.

You might benefit from counselling or talking therapies as a complement to medicine. We can signpost you to these.

Some people don’t need or want medicine. If that’s the case for you, we’ll direct you to SupportRoom for talking therapies as your main method of treatment. You can find more information by clicking on this link:

DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY - WE CAN HELP YOU FEEL BETTER AND STAY WELL

If mental health problems are making it hard to function day-to-day, you’re not alone.

Depression and anxiety are the most common mental health conditions. Without treatment, they can impact your relationships, general health, work, finances and overall enjoyment of life.

Our therapist partners can provide psychological therapies, and we may provide you with medicines to help you feel better and then stay well - providing they’re suitable for you.

Please note, this service is only suitable for treating mild to moderate depression or anxiety. If you need help for other mental health disorders, please speak to your GP.

THE FIRST STEPS TO BETTER MENTAL HEALTH

For £65 we’ll start you on your journey to better mental health.

This one-off payment includes

  • A telephone or video consultation with a mental health friendly GP or clinician
  • A review of your answers to the initial online consultation
  • Follow up messaging to check how you are doing

During your telephone or video consultation, you and the clinician will put a plan together - one that works for you. It might include signposting to counselling or talking therapies, antidepressants, and/or follow up messaging by our clinicians. It’s all covered by the initial charge.

The first month’s medication - if you need it - is included in the initial payment. After that we’ll enrol you on our Membership service.

If you need a referral to a private psychiatrist, that’s included too.

The talking therapies will be provided by SupportRoom, and are charged separately. You'll find more about the therapies available by clicking on this link:

COUNSELLING AND THERAPY

Counselling or therapy plays a key role in improving mental health for many people. That might mean therapy on its own or perhaps alongside an antidepressant, if that’s the best combination for you.

If you would benefit from therapy, SupportRoom can help.

With SupportRoom, you’ll choose one of their fully qualified and accredited therapists and start your online counselling through them. You can access their website for more information by clicking on this link: SupportRoom. There are several different types of therapy on offer from SupportRoom; you can find out more here. There are also different ways of interacting with your therapist - by chat, voice notes or video. Besides therapy, SupportRoom also gives you access to valuable mental health resources such as articles, podcasts, guided meditations and many other wellbeing tools.
